Newsletter July 2015

Welcome to our Winter 2015 edition!

Thank you for your ongoing support of Bondi Junction Hand Therapy. It is hard to believe that we have now been in business for 5 years – Time flies when you are having fun!!

Hannah Munro – Paediatric Hand Therapist

With Emily Myers undertaking research at Prince of Wales Hospital, we were pleased to welcome Hannah back to Bondi Junction Hand Therapy in April this year. Previously Hannah had been such a great addition to the team covering Clare’s maternity leave in 2012. She currently also works at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead, and is now our resident paediatric hand therapist! She is a master of all things kiddie, from tiny splints to helping those with handwriting or other fine motor difficulties. See here for more on Hannah and below for her great article.

New Upper Limb Gym

We gained an additional suite adjacent to our existing suites last month and have turned the new space into our very own upper limb gym. Patients can use it as often as they like with great exercise circuits developed by their Hand Therapist specifically for their needs. Come in to test your grip strength or challenge your wrist proprioception with the slosh pipe.

Hand Therapy Awareness Week

Bondi Junction Hand Therapy again participated in this important week for our small profession of Hand Therapy. During the first week of June we all wore “Hand Therapy Rocks” t-shirts and celebrated with style.

Front desk changes

Congratulations to our office manager Morgan who gave birth to a beautiful girl in May. We miss her in the office but feel very fortunate to have the capable Kathryn taking her place at the front desk.

Kind Regards

Clare
